Overview

Day 1: Cairo Arrival

Upon arrival at Cairo Airport Interpoint representative who will assist you through airport customs & formalities will meet you. You will be escorted immediately to your hotel in one of our air-conditioned modern vehicles.

Arrive to hotel, check in and overnight.

 

Day 2: Giza Pyramids/ Memphis/ Saqqara

You will be picked up from your hotel by Interpoint Tours & Travel representative, to enjoy a great excursion to The Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. Then proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, which dates back to the time of Chephren and visit to the Valley Temple.

Move to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure. It was built in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser. Then Proceed to have your lunch at local restaurant. After that transfer to Memphis which was founded by King Menes, and was the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, it was considered to be a center of rule and culture for over 3000 years the first capital of Egypt, and see the Statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx of Memphis.

 

Day 3: Egyptian museum/ Salah Al din citadel/ Mohamed Ali mosque/ old Cairo/ Aswan

Interpoint Tours & Travel representative will pick you up from your hotel, to enjoy an excursion to the Egyptian Museum where two hours are spent at the richest Museum worldwide accompanied by our guide & enjoying his explanation about the history especially the King Tut’s part with the masterpiece his golden mask. Next, you will visit Saladin Citadel, built in 1183. This huge structure protected Cairo from several enemy attacks & the Mohammed Ali mosque. Admire the beautiful city views of Cairo and the desert from the citadel. Listen to interesting stories about its construction and history from your guide. Then, Proceed visiting old Cairo where you can visit The Hanging Church in Coptic Cairo, Visit the Holy Cave that located at Abu Sergha Church it is the place where the Holy Family stayed during their holy trip.

Then we will take the sleeping train to Aswan.

 

Day 4: Aswan/ Nile Cruise

We will pick up you from the train station to visit the High Dam, an engineering miracle built in 1960 protecting Egypt from annual floods from the Nile. Then proceed to visit the Unfinished Obelisk which shows the techniques used by the ancient Egyptians to cut obelisks. Most probably this obelisk belongs to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rulers of the 18th Dynasty and the royal wife of king Tuthmosis II. This queen was the owner of her Temple in the eastern bank of Luxor. Also there is an opinion said that it belongs to Queen Nefertiti. Then we will enjoy a Felucca ride, after that we will go to the cruise to check in & Overnight.

 

Day 5: Aswan/ Kom Ombo ( Abu Simbel optional)

We will pick you up from the Nile Cruise to take your optional tour to Abu Simbel temples, which its main attraction is the great sun temple of RamsesII and the temple of queen Nefertari. Both temples were discovered in 1813 it was almost completely covered with sand. Then both temples were moved in 1960 by the help of Egyptian government and UNESCO to avoid the rising water of the Nile. Ramses II built the temple mostly to honour himself as inside there is a mural depicting his famous victory at Kadesh battle where his army defeated his enemies. On the north of Ramses temple, the Nefertari Temple which was built by Ramses II to his favourite wife Queen Nefertari among other 200 wives and concubines. Then we will visit Kom Ombo, transfer to see the Temple of Kom Ombo standing on high grounds overlooking The Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance; each one is dedicated to divinity: “Haroeris” with his falcon head and “Sobek” with his crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built on the honor of two deities the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Also, Kom Ombo’s importance lies in its huge sugar-cane.

 

Day 6: Edfu/ Luxor

We will pick you up from your Nile Cruise to visit Edfu temple by carriage that dedicated to Horus which is considered by most to be the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to the Egyptian myths, it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus revenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth. Then Arrival to Luxor to visit Luxor temple. It was built by Amunhotep III in 18th Dynasty in the New Kingdom and it was completed by Ramesses II during the 19th Dynasty. King Ramses II was the most famous king in the 19th Dynasty. He ruled Egypt for about 67 years. It was dedicated to the great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu together representing the Theban triad. You will visit also Mut’s tomb during your trip.

 

Day 7: West bank of Luxor/ Hurghada

We will pick you up from your Nile Cruise to discover the West bank of Luxor. Start your day visiting Valley of the Kings, the magnificence of the grandeur of architecture which was used for burial, there are many kings buried in this valley. You will visit 3 tombs except the Tomb of King Tutankhamun.

Move on to enjoy the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (approximately from 1490 to 1469 B.C), the only pharaonic woman who reigned ancient Egypt. Visit Colossi of Memnon. Later on you will be transferred back to your hotel in Lúxor.

 

Day 8: Hurghada

Day 10: Hurghada/ Cairo

In early morning we will go back to Cairo and make shopping tour, then transfer to Cairo Airport to take your flight to your country.
