After picking you up from your Aswan hotel, Interpoint Tours Travel representative will take you on a half-day tour of this incredible city, stopping at the magnificent Philae Temple, which was constructed in honor of Goddess Isis, the principal deity of the island. Philae was once home to an Egyptian temple complex and was situated close to the vast First Cataract of the Nile in Upper Egypt. Since the Aswan Low Dam was first built in 1902, many floods have affected these rapids and the area around them. As part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign initiative, the temple complex was later disassembled and moved to the nearby island of Agilkia Island, safeguarding it and other monuments before the Aswan High Dam was finished in 1970.
