After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed to visit the Citadel of Cairo, also known as the Citadel of Salah ad-Din. This medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, was originally built by Salah ad-Din (Saladin) and further developed by subsequent Egyptian rulers. For nearly 700 years, from the 13th to the 19th centuries, it served as the seat of government in Egypt and the residence of its rulers. Built on a promontory of the El Mokattam hills near the center of Cairo, the Citadel offers a strategic position, commanding a breathtaking view over the city and dominating its skyline. During its construction, it was considered one of the most impressive and ambitious military fortifications of its time. Today, it stands as a preserved historic site, housing mosques and museums for visitors to explore.
During our exploration of the ancient sites and culture of Coptic Christians, we will delve into the Christian life in Egypt. Our first stop will be the Hanging Church, also known as the Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church. This remarkable church is built into the walls of the Watergate of the Roman fortress and is considered the oldest Christian church in Egypt. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and stands as one of Cairo's most beautiful churches. We will have the opportunity to admire its stunning architecture and learn about its historical significance. Apologies for the repetition in my previous response. Here's the revised version:
Continuing our journey, we will visit the Monastery and Church of Saint George. This unique site is one of the few remaining circular churches in the Middle East, and its architectural style makes it a fascinating place to explore.

Our next stop will be Abu Serga, a significant location where the Holy Family is believed to have rested during their escape from King Herod in Israel. This small church, dating back to the 10th century, held great importance as a pilgrimage site for Christian tourists visiting Old Cairo in the early 20th century. The central court of the church is lined with 24 marble columns, and you can admire a series of 12th-century icons depicting the 12 apostles.
Following that, we will move on to the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which is one of the oldest synagogues in Egypt. Surrounded by a shady garden, the synagogue suffered severe damage during the 1967 war with Israel but has undergone extensive renovation, restoring its beauty.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit the Al Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrasa, built in 1356 by the Bahri Mamluk Sultan AN-Nassir Hassan. This monumental structure is renowned for its impressive size and grandeur. We will also visit the Al Refaie Mosque, which serves as a mausoleum for the Mohamed Ali family and is located adjacent to Al Sultan Hassan Mosque.
After exploring these remarkable sites, we will conclude the tour and return to your hotel in Cairo.
